is it weird that i think some of you guys are more bent out of shape about the kneeling for the anthem than the nazi morons in Virginia? Defend the nazi's right to free speech but these football players doing what they're doing makes you guys rage?

actually, i guess I'm not surprised... lol

anyways, I'm happy the players took a stand... figuratively. CK is an SOB but those nazi clowns were "very fine people"? Its a shame more people don't swallow their pride and stand up for what is right.

I doubt that you'll answer this but do you know what the anthem is about without googling it ? How does protesting the anthem have anything to do with protesting law enforcement ?

They are at work and playing football is not a right but a privilege. Millions of kids look up to these athletes why in their right mind would you show such disrespect towards people that have nothing to do with this imaginary cause they are fighting ?

Thise people in virginia even tho i disagree with they're overall view enforced their right to protest these guys are protesting our countries anthem for what ?

If our system is soo corrupt at its core and they are tracing it back to a song written almost 150yrs ago why not protest the games itself since it is an american pass time....oh wait that would mean protesting their game checks as well...hypocrytes !

Are they commiting a crime ? No

I definitely think something happened between he and the team. What a jellyfish to actually be pictured showing the proper respect, go back and say it wasn't right, and then worry about throwing your teammates under the bus!!!! You know, his jersey sales spiked after the public thought he was decent. I hope they all go get refunds!
What happened with number 78 ? Which team ?

78 is Alejandro Villanueva, the lone Steeler who stood for the anthem.....but has since backtracked and apologizef to his teammates for doing so.

His girlfriend is who got him in this mess in the first place
Hello; Yeah and how long does anyone guess she will hang around now that the big bucks are not in the future?

some of you guys are more bent out of shape about the kneeling for the anthem than the nazi morons in Virginia?
Hello; I was going to respond but will simply paste the following quotes from other members. They state it well.

the Nazis went about their protests the right way, on their own time, permits, not trying to use their cheap celebrity to encourage anyone.
Those losers of the NFL, are on the clock. Stfu, and play ball that's all. Protest on you OWN time
people down in Virginia were not protesting or making a stand on someone else's paying time....were peacefully doing their thing until other groups arrived to confront them....and they damned sure were not disrespecting the flag and anthem of their country
.People spend their hard earned money to sit and watch a football game not see a bunch of rich crybababies force their political views on them.

Actually, shouldn't the Nazi's be fined for submitting a false permit? None of the chants I read about involved states rights or even the statue they were there to supposedly protest for?

Also, for anyone that hasn't, might want to read into Villanueva's full story. The titles I saw over the night all had a very leftist spin making it sound like he suddenly turned against standing there. None of the full articles I read (three of them at least) quoted him as saying that at all. The full quotes did not match any of the headlines that I saw.

Also, while I usually have nothing good to say about Roethlisberger (I can't type out the version of his name he's known by around here) ... the fact he has obvious regret about not being out to show respect is a mark in his favor.

into Villanueva's full story
Hello; I do not know the full story yet. I do know that he was standing at attention with hand over heart just like we are supposed to do. He did respect the flag. I respect that part of what he did.
If his being out of the locker room was an accident or if he is now in trouble with the rest of the team that is a nother thing. At least he did not take a knee.

Well, I'm intrigued. How is it that you know how bent out of shape we are about it? Is this a special ability like a super hero has where you can read thoughts from people you've never met?

anyways, I'm happy the players took a stand... figuratively. CK is an SOB but those nazi clowns were "very fine people"? Its a shame more people don't swallow their pride and stand up for what is right.
Well, then you'll be shocked. The players are all under contract. The contract says that they (the players) will abide by league rules. League rules specifically state that all players who are in uniform will be on the field and standing when the national anthem is played.

So is violating or breaching a contract right or not right?

Its all bullshit, what the NFL needs to do is stop televising the Anthem, Thursday night foot ball never televised it till this last Thursday. but either way just stop televising it. Most the time the folks doing it can not sing it right anyways.

now if I wanted to get the protesters goat, instead of the Anthem, do the pledge of allegiance.
That is specifically to flag and country, Sit to that ********s.

The guy who sings the national anthem for the Ravens has resigned.....in protest of the fans who have the nerve to be offended at the protesting players.
