If it works I guess don't mess with it. Most filters I've had always get some build up in them that requires cleaning. My only canister was a fx5 and that was full of poop when I would open it, and not just in the sponges but everywhere.
Keep sharing is all I can suggest. If my memory is accurate, you were a big contributor to a thread that discussed ultimas and wlim wave filters. I run low tech ac110s. My hope is that on my next tank upgrade I will go with something that requires minimal maintenance (no sponges to clean or filters socks potentially). Love my drip that has eliminated manual w/c but want to take it to the next level.
smh...moe, you need to drive to Hartford to learn a little about innovation and technology from Pratt. Check out their GTF. Take it to the next level.Don't you have to replace media once in a while? I too am very low in maintenance with my filter. Only open it once a year. No issues for me either. I've got me a little cascade 1500 lol. Wasn't into filters back when I got it and my life didn't have and fx5s which was the newest model at the time.
Hey I was 14 lmao and it's not my fault my lfs didn't have any better filters than what I've got. But it's worked for me through the years never a issuesmh...moe, you need to drive to Hartford to learn a little about innovation and technology from Pratt. Check out their GTF.
