520 gallon plywood tank

It's a mess still because I'm slowly moving stuff in and still finishing some minor trim/construction. But draining is easy. I put a utility sink off the drain that drops into a rainwater barrel under the house. So I can use the water for some new trees I planted and other outside plants. Water still isn't tied in so I am running a hose. Easy to tie in, I've just been busy.

noise, it is right next to his bed
yeah my first time too. But they hold as much or more than a fx6 which claims to be good for 400g, but imo more like 200-250. So I basically will have 3 of those on the tank. That's my thought process at least with choosing this. Since it's just on the other side of my bed, I didn't want a wet dry noise. These just make faint "hums". The bubbles from the 5" air disc make more noise really.

Yeah noise was a big part. Also because off how I wanted it to fit next to my bed, there's only 22" of vertical pace under the tank so I'd have the sump open in my closet. For me this is easier.

Not having space makes sense but it’s easy to make an overflow and sump damn near dead silent

Any issues with the buckets? I tried building these and when power was cut it'd leak like crazy. When it was running no issues.
