My main passion is outdoor ponds. I've worked with so many ponds over the past 30 years, I made notes of what the traditional japanese koi ponds did to grow jumbos and where technology has taken it. Many claim depth and volume but I found to be not true. We've introduced so much plastic into our fish keeping it's crazy. I've seen new ponds with the latest and greatest to only produce 12" koi. I've seen shallow 18" deep ponds with anaerobic areas grow 30" jumbos. The traditional Japanese ponds use in-pond filters......think about it.I didn't know this about you, Ken, that you do projects like these. Gotta read more of your threads, just 42 pages makes it a bit challenging That's great except how do you rehome all these fine fish after they get nice size??
These grow out threads is for me to play with East meet West filtration. Can we grow good healthy size fish in a 225g?. I'm like you but a way smaller scale. Love your updates too.
Rehoming in Socal is easy with a big population of fish monger.
