I am for sure with you on keeping polys in groups and not as single specimen. What I am still unsure is whether they actually need multiple of the same specimen or if just in general multiple polys do the trick aswell. The 4 that i "babysitted" for my friend got along great even though the ornis where nearly twice as fat as the senegal/delhezi. They were always hanging out together. But I guess then it would rather be one delhezi/polli and 3 senegals?
You dont really need to have multiple of the same species, one of each can do the trick, you can do delhezi, senegal, polli, albino sen, and palmas palmas;)

I wont mix ornate in the group since they grow bigger and can potentially become a bully or even eat its tank mate.

Yeah i thought about mixing normal and albino sens anyway, my girlfriend loves albinos in general haha. congo tetra seem to be either hit or miss it seems, some say it worked perfectly, others say won't work at all... That's why I thought I might just stick with the ctenopomas as pretty much everyone says this works fine. Have you got any experience with congos and bichirs?
And thanks, it's nice being here and I already got much more support than I thought, much appreciated!

I dont have experience with congos and polys yet. I have 14 congos in grow out now so I will. magpie magpie has maybe she can give more info on that. I know she really didnt have any go missing.
Polys dont need to be in pairs thats up to you and how you want it to look, or what you like to look at. In my tank I have 7 ropes, 2 teugs, 3 dels, 3 sens, 2 butts, a polli, a moke, a ctenopoma, 2 geos, and at times its like there is nothing in my tank. This is why I said you may want dithers. My tank has lots of hides and plants so that helps make it look "empty" while everyone hides. You may not like decor so you might see yours all the time. There are some that say territorial aggression can happen if hides are used but ive not seen that. Now I just havd to worry about someone eating my congos, they are a good size when grown so I think it'll be safe.

Yeah I just had the ornate in there since they were my friends fish from his broken aquarium. I won't get an ornate since I want to be able to keep them in my 90gal for all of their life, which wouldn't work with the ornate.

That sounds like a great tank, how big is it if I may ask?
I'll go for lots of plants and some driftwood, they should be able to behave as naturally as possible and from what i experienced with the other 4 they were still out and about from time to time. And yeah dither would actually be a good idea but as I said, I would just be happy if they stay dithers and don't end up as expensive food haha.

Alright so some decisions have been made :)
I'll keep my 4 bushfish that I currently have but will leave them at 4 for now (maybe upgrade if water quality etc. is good and everyone is doing fine). Additionally, I'll get 3 senegals that they currently have at my lfs, if seen them there since like 1.5 months now and always was tempted to buy them. 2 normal and 1 albino, I mean I can't leave one of these cute polys at the lfs, they all gotta come home haha. So that leaves me open with one more poly probably and maybe some dithers, not sure yet (or maybe even ropes haha, I likes those too)

Oh I'd love to get a tank like this, sadly i am currently limited to a 90g due to my floor not being able to support more -.- But thinking about renting a small room and doing a fishroom in there ;)
What would you think about the idea to maybe get a delhezi and a moke/butt? So in total that would be 4 bushfish, 3 senegal, 1 delhezi and 1 moke/butt... or is that pushing it? Kinda can't decide between the delhezi/moke/butt...
