Wetspot to the rescue again!..They came through for me a while back on a particular catfish that I'd been after but couldn't find anywhere else.Wetspot has some on their list.
Nice,I just checked out their list and I'd be on it like a cheap suit if I could see an actual photo.Yes, wetspot is my possible source.
Yeah, I just wish they provided photos. But I do trust them, I've bought multiple fish from them and they always are what they are labeled as. I'll probably jump on it and get one.Wetspot to the rescue again!..They came through for me a while back on a particular catfish that I'd been after but couldn't find anywhere else.

Thanks for the reply. Have you or anyone you know recently purchased anything from him? It seems like he has somewhat disappeared from the forum, I haven't read anything posted lately about fish from rehoboth aquatics. Not active anymore. But he’s a trusted source if he replies to u.
Where did you buy the "misidentified" afer from? Just to be sure maybe I could ask for a picture, if not oh well, I'll risk it.I normally would also trust them but in this case I don't want to risk winding up with another misidentified afer.I'm still not 100% sure about a little one that I have been growing out.
Go for it and post a progress thread.
Ok I see, so the actual vendor was unsure. It appears that afer has gold spots and congoensis has more broken spots/stripes.Actually it wasn't misidentified by the vendor as they were not sure which one it was.I am still not sure months later as there are not many reliable photos to go by
Right,he said that it came in as an oddball stowaway in a bag of brown knife fish....as for the description,I have seen photos of afers with both types of markings. One so called congo trait is dark markings on a light base color.Ok I see, so the actual vendor was unsure. It’s the inverse colors of an afer.Right,he said that it came in as an oddball stowaway in a bag of brown knife fish....as for the description,I have seen photos of afers with both types of markings. One so called congo trait is dark markings on a light base color.
Yep,my little guy hasn't darkened any but I won't be comfortably sure untill it grows a little bigger. It’s the inverse colors of an afer.
