29 gallon tank has ich, how to treat it

Submerge the leaves as well. Don't move the plants since they can carry ich too.


Ich will take several days to drop off, and treatment kills the free swimming form that hatches from eggs. So it'll take a bit of time to clear up.
Oh, ok thanks. Now for my plants is it ok if the roots are wet but the leaves aren't? The leaves are dying up but the roots are wet

Yes, like Hendre Hendre said submerge the leaves. Some aquatic plants can’t have their leaves out of the water or they die as yours sound like they are doing.
If you have a big tall vase that would work well by a window with the plants in it. Id rinse the plants off daily and change all their water. To hopefully get rid of the nasty little bugs that are surely on them.

update, just got home, my 4 peacock gudgeons, 1 rummynose tetra, and 2 cherry barbs are dead, my one loach is floating upside down, but still alive. No idea what to do
Oh no! Have you tested parameters? Ich won't kill fish that quickly...

yeah, ammonia .1 ppm, nitrates about 10 ppm, the heater overheated and went to 98 degrees, but I have an airstone in there so I doubt it's that, I don't see why 1 loach would be affected, so far about $50 in fish are gone

Make sure u have a powerhead to keep the water churning and moving.
