I don't think I could move South. Too accustomed to the mild weather here, also the cheap power and water.

Electricity is $.07 a kilowatts
Water is $.06 a cubic yard

Last summer with all the heaters off my electric bill was $14 a month.
What?! $14!

You’d die if you saw my electric bill. Lol

I'll never forget north dakota. I had to work outside. It was -10 with a 60mph wind in Nov. The freaking plane was sliding sideways getting to the runway
Ugh that reminds me of when i was on the job. I worked outside 90% of the time. Winters were brutal, it was on an island. So the wind was horrible. The ice would form little daggers almost straight vertically along the fencing and bars.

Lol the inmates hated it too but would go outside just to screw us and force us to stand out there with them. Ahh those were the days

900 isn't all that bad with 0 utilities.

The temp swings here are pretty wild within a week. It will be 20 then 40 then 60 then 30. I'm still using ac and heater depending on the day.

Personally I like 80 with 70s humidity.

I was in southeast tx by corpus Christi. The sign coming into the refinery would read 85F and 80% RH at 7am. Afternoon was 102F and 97%. Thats when I decided TX might not be for me

$400 is a hit. Just curious is your house pretty well insulated or do you have older Windows etc?

Ya it's 925 a month with water, garbage and sewer free. We only pay electric.

Older house. We just got the roof done last year, but still need to do siding and windows. The windows leak air, worse on windy days. And since it’s a farm we have two separate meters we get billed for. Not sure if that’s how all farms work or if it’s that way because this was a rental before we bought it.
We still rent out the land and grain bins, but we pay the electric they use.
Normally that’s not much, but the dryer on the big bin has been running for over three weeks straight now. I feel like my mental stability is being tested. Lol
