Iridescent Shark Help

This morning my 14 inch iridescent shark laying on its side. It begins to thrash when nudged with my net. I dont know what was wrong with it. I added some salt to the tank, and left the lights of. It was dead by the time by the evening. I have another iridescent shark in my tank, and I am wondering what could've killed him. He showed no sign of stress previously, and he had not been bashing into the tank previously. The water quality is all in the normal ranges as well.

Whats your parameters reading? How long since wc? How much and how ofter do you change water? Tank size and filtration? More tankmates then another id-shark?

O ammonia, 0 nitrite, between 20 and 40 nitrate. I change my water 50% every week. I changed water last Friday. 300 gallons, and 2 fx6 filters. I have a motoro stingray pup and black diamond hybrid pup, spotted gar, an african arowana, an oscar and a school of parrot fish. The sharks were temporary inhabitants until I either rehomed them to ohio fish rescue, or built a pond during the spring. They were rescues. Also, all of the fish with the exception of the parrots, sharks, and oscar are still pretty small

Ok. I would try to keep the nitrates under 20 preferably under 10ppm. So you light wanna up your wc to 50% twice a week.
The parrots are known to be total *******s. Oscars can be grumpy to. Ive heard that african aros can be asgoles to but have no first hand experience with that species. It is a possibility that the shark has darted like an scud missile and hit its head hard and got some internal damage.

He had no marks on him. Not even on his nose, so I dont think he skewered himself. Plus the driftwood I have has little to no shark points on it

Dont have to be skewered at all. One hard hit to the head and it can be goodby. Ive got a friend who lost an 50 Indo dat due to it took a bite at the glass of his tank. It spazed out and died.

That could be it, but he hadn't spazed at all since he got adjusted to the tank. Also, none of the other fish have given any attention to either sharks

Its an id-shark. They are skittish as f. They can dart like an scud missile from nowhere.

From looking at the picture, I hadn't realized before. But his head looks a little bit too big for his body. Could he have been stunted?

Dont know. But took a closer look and the motoro dont look that small. Take a close look at the rays barbs. Are they missing some skin on the barbs they might have nailed the shark. Ive had it happen with an orinofemale and my pearlmales barb. Didnt see any wounds on the peacock but she shure didnt die naturally.
