I want to but an emp angel gets pretty big. Also I was looking at some cool inverts. Only other puff I want is a hairy. I like not having to worry about hard shelled foods all the time.

I acquired a pair about 6 months ago and just combined them (accidentally - one jumped the divider). I have several species of freshwater pufferfish and these are by far my favorite. One has more barbels than the other so I am hoping I have a pair. The only time they bicker is when they both grab a mealworm at the same time, which only results in the mealworm being torn in two. The male (more hairy) is very outgoing of the two and begs to be fed a lot. I’m really glad they didn’t kill each other...
The amount of hair is not a great determination of sex. Mine is quite hairy and is female. I know for sure because she has dropped eggs before.

When i clicked on the thread and saw the first post was back in 2014, i thought, someone just revived an old thread, but after reading this last post i am very happy i went through the thread and the puffer still being there with you.
I have been keeping one for almost an year now, and i want to ask a few questions as you have good experience with this one.
Mine when new was a very very active specimen constantly running around the front pane the moment i was in the fish room, now just hides under a piece of driftwood, eats once or twice in a week, although would eat crabs eveytime if I put.
