300 gal advice

I have a empty 300 wide with coast to coast over flows. I was thinking of doing a nice group of Piranha to get back into keeping. If I start with babies in this size tank will I have to modify my over flows till they are bigger? Should I turn down the flow on my pump so they are not pushed around?

Yes if it won't do harm to the pump and as they grow adjust the flow.

Up and running, Im gonna seed the filter with some filter pads from my sisters established tank. So where is the best place to get baby red bellies? Aquascape in NJ is 2 hours away i noticed they had babies?

Standard 300 wide 30" wide 24" high 8' long.

Yes aquascape and twenty will be cheaper to purchase. You will probably lose a couple due to cannibalism and hierarchy.

Anyone keep small bottom feeders with them? Like a group of cory cats to help clean up?

common pleco - id get a bigger 5” er or so if you can and provide a hide... it will probably get eaten eventually-

but that’s the only thing i’ve had success in mixing with pygos

think corys will be snacks for sure...
