Being quite old is an advantage. You pick all sorts of useless information up over the years. And also being in a pub quiz team for about 20 years is a better education than being at school!!

That's my excuse for knowing tons of rubbish, lol.
And here we have a little dilema.
The title is causing us a problem.
a useless fact is only a useless fact if you have no use for it.
a fact that wins you a quiz is no longer a useless fact.
in fact we need to delete all the posts above as I have just realized we have found a use for them all, as esoxlucius esoxlucius puts it, to put the whole forum to sleep just before bed!

I remember reading something about this before and scythe chicken came first, they protein in the shell of the egg or something like that is only found in chicken ovaries or something like that meaning the chicken came first.
Just to clear up any doubt on what came first, the chicken or the egg, I found this gem.....

This interesting fact follows on from The Masked Shadow The Masked Shadow partly correct fact in post #28 regarding landlocked countries (you only picked 3 young man!).

There are over 40 countries worldwide which are landlocked. But did you know there are only 2 which are DOUBLE landlocked!!

Liechtenstein in Europe, and Uzbekistan in Asia. These countries are not only landlocked, but the countries which surround them are also landlocked.

No easy trip to the beach for those guys, lol.

What I meant by landlocked is by a single country. As anbexample, Lesotho is a separately governed country, but completely surrounded by South Africa.

I also wanted to share this. This is a game called geoguessr. It spawns you in a random country in street view from google maps. Most of the countries in Europe, South America, and Southern Asia is covered. Parts of Africa and the Middle East are as well. Google street view also covers remote places such as Antarctica (the islands closest to Chile), Åland Islands (a small Finnish territory), Greenland, and the Farœs. I need to guess based off of the image shown. The image is interactive - I can move around and zoom in. My special talent is goegraphy and finding out where I am. This is an almost perfect score (if it wasn’t for the opposite side of Orlando. If it isn’t clear, I spawned in major cities, which is easiest for me.

Albuquerque, New Mexico
Orlando, Florida
Marseille, France
Lansing, Michigan
Random road in Bhutan.

If your wondering how I got so close, I’m happy to answer. I feel like this post is too long already lol

Been getting very good at geoguessr. Fun game. Anyway, I've noticed quite a few things. Taiwan is the only country that has a black and yellow warning sign to reach all the way to the bottom of a pole. California is the only state that has 3 strips of neon on their poles.
Kyrgyzstan, Curacao, Kenya, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, US Virgin Islands, Guatemala, Martinique, Ghana, Senegal, and many more have unique cars that carry the google camera, if that makes sense. For example, the car that covers most of Mongolia's uninhabited land has a tent on the back, which is obvious to see. Luxembourg, Netherlands, and the UK are the only countries in Europe that have yellow license plates.
Albania has a red badge on the license plate.
Italy is the only country to have a double blue badge, one on both sides of the license plate.
Mainland Malaysian poles have a small black sticker on them.
Each country, state, and sometimes province has it's own bollards.
Portugal has a white border around km per hour signs.
Jersey (UK) has a red license plate.
Northern Mariana Islands has a car with a tall antenna in the right corner.

Ay ay ay. What am I doing with my life :screwy:
