Been worried about u Vik, was relieved to see this vid yesterday. Happy u and ur wife are ok. The videos ive been seeing from Naples and the rest of Florida are just ridiculous ??… Hope ur power is restored sooner than later.
Same, I was worried how you were doing Viktor. I'm truly sorry to see you're going through this but am thankful that you're okay. I've been keeping you and everyone in Florida in my prayers.

Thank you guys so greatly from the bottom of our hearts! As we have been spared the worst, we are humbled and grateful but our thoughts and prayers are with the people to the north of us who got ripped apart by Ian. The devastation is unbelievable even in Naples in the flood zone A and B (we are in D so haven't gotten much surge) but the Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Sarasota, St. Petersburgh, Tampa are far, far worse.

***

Sept 28 2022 cat 4 hurricane Ian packing 155 mph winds with its eye swirling around 30 miles from us off shore for the whole day. Hurricane force winds only 5-10 miles from us, we got tropical storm force winds - 50 mph sustained wind with 70-80 mph gusts all day. No power, no water, no AC, no internet, poor phone service for 5 days. Fish tanks ran on two gasoline generators, nineteen 400W pumps and some smaller stuff consumed 50 gal of gas daily, had to refill with 10 gal of gas every 6 hours.

Phew, thank goodness you are well. Compared to the other areas you mentioned it looks like you dodged a real bullet there in Naples.

Great to hear from you, we feared the worst when there was no communication from you.

Glad to hear you are OK. I'm located in North Port (Sarasota Southern part). We got the proverbial "shiz" kicked out of us. Spent all day yesterday cutting up and removing downed trees. Ian lasted a good 10 hours for us, the house made a lot of groaning noises during those long hours but held on.

Thank you all so greatly!

So glad to hear you and your rescue are OK. Been worried about you.
Thank you! On a separate topic, you floored me with the pacu iron gate. Talking about upping the game a few notches :)

Wow! I am glad you are alright. I read your reports in the "How's the weather" thread, but didn't know where you were exactly. You're only 1.5 hours from us to the north. You got it good. Must be sitting quite high if you evaded the flooding of the house. Going 5 miles one way in 1.5-2 feet of water to get gasoline for generator is a feat and a scare!

Yes, as I say on the vid after Irma in 2017 I was cutting trees and cleaning our 10 acre lot almost full time for 1 full year! Couldn't build anything towards opening for business. All in all Irma kicked our opening plans 1.5 years back. I hope you'll clean much faster, neighbor.

After Hurricane Ian we were 5 days with no power, water, AC, internet. The fish tanks ran on 2 gasoline generators, nineteen 400W pumps, couple canister filters, fridge, freezer, couple lights, all in all probably 10K-12K watts. At 50 gal a day we used up 250 gal of gas, had to refill 5 gal into each generator every 6 hours.
