I was flicking through Netflix last night and stumbled upon a documentary called "Behind The Curve". It was about the "flat earthers". I have never watched anything in my entire life where my mouth was constantly wide open in dumbstruck awe throughout.

The fact that the earth is a globe is an absolute given, there is no denying it. You simply can't disprove something like that. It's like trying to disprove that black is really white. And yet, alarmingly, there is a growing number of people worldwide who are hopping on this ridiculous bandwagon.

They have even come up with their own "experiments" to show that the earth doesn't have any curvature whatsoever. And their experiments have shown, to their dismay, that it obviously does have a curvature!! But rather than accept it, they are looking at ways of disproving their own findings and "tweaking" their own methods.

It is a truly jaw dropping piece of television.

A lot of the people shown in that clip are in the documentary. That Mark Sergeant is one helluva guy, lol.

If he and his cronies came walking up my driveway to sell there theory to me, and a group of Jehovah's Witnesses were behind them, I'd literally get on my hands and knees and beg the Jehovah's Witnesses to come in my house and talk about God.....and everyone knows what I think about Jehovah's Witnesses, lol.

I like a good conspiracy theory. I can even understand some of them, even though they are quite wacky, such as the moon landing one, and I enjoy listening to the arguments for and against.

But the flat earthers are something else entirely. There simply isn't a place for them to even start an argument.

One flat earther in the documentary, a woman, even alluded to the absurd notion that no planes flew into the twin towers! When you hear something like that then it sort of all clicks into place. You begin to understand then just what type of delusional people we're dealing with.

I think that a small percentage of "modern" Flat Earthers are just "life trolls"; they want to rile people up face-to-face and in-person, rather than being satisfied with merely pissing into the internet. Guys like Sargent are just PITA s**t-disturbers who have mastered the art of keeping a straight face while spouting nonsense, just trying to get a rise out of everybody else in the room.

But I'd bet most of the others are simply living breathing proof of just how stupid humans can be and often are.

Where is George Carlin when you really need him? :)

Never heard of George Carlin, had to look him up! I don't suppose he was a flat earther, lol.
Never heard of George Carlin????!!!!:OMG:

Wow, do you have some laughs coming if you pull up videos of some of his stand-up routines! The guy was a comic genius; some of the best one-liners in showbiz.

"Just think of how stupid the average person you meet is...and then realize that half of them are even dumber than that!"

Looks like I could be in for a treat then. It's only recently that I came across Norm McDonald. That guy nearly made me choke to death...on several occasions, lol.

I'm sure most can identify with this lol.

Up until I watched the video just now I thought this was some joke...Flat Earth? Why do people get so caught up in an idea like this. I mean there are things that are so much more worthwhile (and true) that they could spend their effort on. That's my view anyway.
