Stand or not for huge plywood tank

Started on the tank again. The new well is in and paid for, so it’s time to get cracking on the build.
I decided not to tile the outside. If we sell the house later, all I will have to do is remove the exterior plywood and it’ll fit out the front door and past the columns on the porch.
I also decided to cover the middle of the roof with another glass table top, allowing plenty of light in. I found some areas where the plywood started to separate after cutting, so time to add some bondo before sealing with epoxy. The front panel should be ready to go in by July.

These guys will be getting a new home soon.
The third pic is a Jaguar Cichlid my wife found in her minnow trap from our lake.

Now that it’s older, I agree. It’s definitely aggressive and holds its own against the peacocks and gar during feedings.

I’ve got these guys in our grow out tank. One is 6” and the other one is 8”. Putting on size and showing alot of colors. I also got a baby RTC.
By the time I get the big tank finished, they’ll be big enough to handle the Peacock monos.

Just pulled this guy out of our lake. This guy is 15”. Man, I gotta get this tank done.

We pulled these guys from our lake. I believe the big one (2.5 lbs) is a mono. But I can’t quite figure out what the other 3 are

Those are some serious eating machines! I bet they were hell on whatever lived in that lake prior.

I'd guess you're probably right on the mono. At least two of the others have quite a bit of speckling which points toward them having some Kelberi in their background though probably crossed w/ something else and likely a mono.

division of wildlife in florida created and released their own strain of mutts to combat invasive cichlids… they call them “butterfly peacocks”… so the mono is most likely not a mono either. They are all hybrids. They did also try releasing temensis i believe but they could not withstand the colder temps. Ill try to find some info for u. Ive posted the article on here before somewhere.

That’s a new one..heard they introduced ocellaris and Temensis, temensis didn’t survive and ocellaris did, ocellaris is also known as the butterfly peacock..

ocellaris was one type they used… they held them back in a lab. Mixed 3 different species together breeding in tanks..then released them in 1984. I believe this was after the initial failed attempt with temensis. The hybrids were more cold tolerant. Kinda funny really… invasives made and released by the state.
