I'm asking because 5 ppm for nitrates is not normal for most of us lol but that's great if it stays that way.
It has a ton of non-aquatic plants growing out of it, in the filter and hanging baskets and the like. And it is a 125 gallon that held only 5 fish, all under 3.5 inches.

Ok that's great minimal nitrates. Plants helps. I have recently started to add more plants in my 40 breeder freshwater pipefish and noticed a difference after weekly testing.

Wow I never heard of those. Nice looking catfish.
They're cool, but they can be real jerks - after talking to people on here who have them, it seems like some of them are fine and others are bloodthirsty maniacs. I had 2 with 3 pictus with no slaughtering, but they were all still young when the ich wiped them out so I don't know if it would have worked in the long run. I will probably try that again, maybe experiment with some barbs or something as well.
