Picking up my bracing tomorrow after work so hopefully will be water testing again this weekend. I assume that a butt weld would be plenty strong enough to hold lids if I did something like this in a few different spots?

Yup 💀🤙… pretty smart solution… twin wall poly carb is prob the best choice for lids (green house panels)… super light and does not bow. Comes in a few different thicknesses. I think mine is around 3/8”. Most hardware stores carry it now. Regular 1/4” poly carb is pretty good also but bows a bit more than the twin wall at double the price. If u go with acrylic ull have to continually flip it over every so often as it bows pretty bad.

When I was trying to square out the rounded part of the patch job on top I noticed that it heated the crappy weld that was on it enough that it pretty much let loose so no I am going to try to make it look a bit better. Bonus if you ask me lol
