Trimac or Midas for wet pet?

Started out life with a dozen or so of his siblings in a 125, then into a 90 gallon for several yrs, then 5 yrs ago went back to flying solo in a 125. IME citrinellus make great wet pets, and as others have stated the bigger the tank the better. Obviously that goes for most large fish.

100% correct on that! Think I have my eye set on the trimac. Let him grow for a year then upgrade him. I know someone that has 2 inch juvies from f1 parents.

I have my 7 inch male Red Devil in a 125 and he covers that in roughly 5 seconds flat, he’s not even fully grown and it seems like he’s starting to make it look small. I would suggest nothing less than a 6 footer for large Amphs when fully grown, though a 90g would suffice as a grow out. Male Trimacs can get to 16 inches and I’ve seen Midas/Red Devils get to 15.

That'll work. I've ordered a trimac and I'll give it a few months to grow out before placing it into its own 6ft tank

Well received my trimac but was DOA. Such a shame. It was at 3 inches and was a male (was able to vent). Packing was tight but believe it was shippers fault probably tossing the box around.
Shipping companies have no regard for livestock and yet claim not be responsible.

Anyways, got in contact with my supplier and they are shipping me another trimac and I'll have it by next Thursday.
