Nice one mate! I was gonna ask about the plumbing route, but is see the cut outs on the floor under the tank for the central overflows & return. Coming together nicely. Cool

Starting to move my focus towards substrate now. I have a few different ideas but am learning towards having one corner (maybe a 3 foot portion of it) planted with aqua soil and the rest of it sand, crushed coral and pea gravel. Any thoughts or suggestions? With the Oscars im not sure if I will be able to keep plants but I would really like to lol

So during the leak testing last night I found the overflows were leaking. This was a concern I had from the moment I put them in due to the fact that the holes were an odd size, 2" was too large and 1 1/2 was actually a bit too small so I had to center them perfectly for the gaskets to work. Today I decided to try my luck at using a router to freehand the openings to accept the 2" and I think it turned out very well. I would have gone bigger but 2" was the largest I could find locally. I am very happy with the turnout

More drain power is always a good thing 💀🤙 comin along nicely now! Are u capping those 4x4’s with 2x4 to fill the gaps on the stand?

I realized after the stand was about halfway built that I should have done that. To compensate I am casing the 4x4s to support the legs and also underpinning the 2x6s with 2x4s as marked

Takes the weight off the bolts/nails, adding in those leg pieces will go a long way. Ive never braced up under the cross braces but that is pretty smart for some extra assurance.
