I have a 180 gallon, 6x2x2 foot with 30 gallon sump, I think hard water, considering festae for long term occupants, ok with species only, (pair or colony, not single specimen)dithers if needed,I prefer bare tanks , my idea is to grow out a group and keep a pair or harem, might this work?

I started with 8 1in F1 Festae in a 125 first 1.5 year everything is all good 1 female grew very fast the rest typical slow growth for Festae. Then the large female proceeded to kill her brothers and sisters 1 by 1 every night she was very ruthless about it just chilling all day but as soon as the lights went out all you hear was splashes all night would wake up to a dead Festae. There are many different reports about them from my experience a 180 would be fine for a pair but if you get a crazy male or female all bets are off. my female is a solid 8.5-9in and is housed with a 10in male Midas but she is the tank boss
