I have a 180 gallon, 6x2x2 foot with 30 gallon sump, I think hard water, considering festae for long term occupants, ok with species only, (pair or colony, not single specimen)dithers if needed,I prefer bare tanks , my idea is to grow out a group and keep a pair or harem, might this work?

Most keep the Festae in larger aquariums.
As soon as 2 pair off get rid of the others.
