MFK'ers!

Been a while, had to check if my account was still active here :)

In my usual fashion, I've gotten bored with the look of the 190g, so I had to change things up a bit. Added a few fake plants, inspired by the ADG aqua scapes. Also switched out the LED fixture for my old T5HO fixture. Currently running one Giesseman Aquaflora bulb. I love LEDs, but I miss the color of a fluorescent bulb. You'll also notice the discus are no more. Lost a few due to an unknown reason, so I said F it, and gave the rest to my buddy.

So on the new look, yay or nay?
So perfect it looks photoshopped. Anyone who votes "nay" should be banned from the site for life. Cleanest looking setup I've seen. Very nice!

A school of 5 or 6 clown loaches would look real nice in there. Or perhaps a few more Melanotaenia lacustris, if that's the blue that I see to the left of the Geos.

looks awesome. How about some pink tailed chalceus or apollo sharks? they like to stay on the upper part of the water column

Looks nice J!

How about an MBU puffer, Zacco Barbs or Vittatus African Tiger Fish :) (not as aggressive as they sound).

Any who, nice to see you posting bro!

Love the scaping.

If you don't go Uaru, you might want to look at a festivum species. Think a bigger, bulkier more streamlined and scrappier angel (though still peaceful enough to hang with your stock).

Uaru amphiacanthoides would be a good, they get big are peaceful and prefer higher temps like your eartheaters do. I kept them together with many different species of earth eaters and had no problems. Scape looks good Jose.
Thanks man! I actually was thinking of those. That would be a nice option. You ever kept those 'true' parrot cichlids? What's their temperament like?

Seems you've been missing in action of late, good to see you are back.

Sure have, thanks!

Actually that's a really good suggestion but if I went Uaru it would be Uaru fernandezyepezi.
Now I gotta see if I can find them locally!

Did you even need to ask? That looks incredible!

Thanks :)

VERY nice tank, really like what you have done with the scaping. As far as stocking suggestions I think everyone has already posted any ideas I had for it. Good luck and keep the pics coming!!!
Thanks!

Loaches would be sweet. I miss the old pack I had, about 15 big larger ones. Yeah, that's what the blue guy is. He refuses to die lol. Kinda clashes with everything else, but no way I can catch him in that driftwood maze. Just saw your pm from a while back, sorry about the lack of reply! How's the tank doing?

you need a wels catfish...
LOLNO

Ah the pink tails. Thanks for the tip. I have seen those locally, never kept them though. They fairly peaceful?

Looks nice J!

Thanks E! Man a VATF would be nice. Yours was one of the coolest I'd ever seen. I think my tank is a little small though for one of those, and I'd have to remove a lot of the wood...

Need color for the visual impact in the living room!

Thanks! Yup, been wanting to pick up a few of those, but every time I go to the LFS they look like crap!

OK, I'll say it, ban me for life - but I don't like the plastic plants. The tank looks nice, but the plants kind of kill it for me. I wish there were fake plants that looked very real but they just don't make em. It looks better than most tanks out there, but if it were mine I'd stick with the background, wood and rocks. Maybe anubias if I had the t5 on there and wanted some color.

I've always been a fan of live plants too. Anybody who has seen my old planted tanks knows that :) I just don't have the time or desire to mess with live plants right now. I'll be doing a lot of travelling for work and I need something very low maintenance. I find that I quickly get bored with my tanks and I need to do something different to freshen things up every now and then. The plant-less scape looks great too, but the green just makes the whole setup look great in the living room and it's the first thing you see when walking into the house.

I'm sure in another couple months I'll be changing something again!

Anubias would work and are very low maintenance, but the problem is finding enough where it would make a nice visual. They can get expensive and are hard to find in large sizes. It'd cost a small fortune to get a decent amount of anubias in there.
