i think its too complicated u coulda gotten by by just having an over flow and a slow drip into the tank from a faucet so that it'll fill up the overflow and that will put it down the drain! but if u have an overflow in ur tank for a sump then u put the overflow in the sump!
I figured it would take less water this way to get the same result. I was going with the drip system, but i would have to run more water through the tank on a weekly basis to achieve the same thing.

Might want to make sure your drain line takes water from the midwater level, in case it sticks open, it won't drain the whole tank.

Good idea, didn't think about that. But it was gonna be midwater anyway, to try and keep it free of gunk.

awsome tank build!!! I have a 1000 gal koi pond but to have a 1000 gals in a tank is AWSOME!!! Good idea on the water changer and also going with a sand filter. For me though I would have gone with the ultraviolet ultima II filter.
Are you planning on putting a UV in the system? It will help alot...

I was wondering the same about the U.V. light because a lot of the time larger tanks can become cloudy or green with out ultra violet lights! take some notes from that building a 1700 shark tank with the black tip shark! he did an amazing job on filtration! and his water is crystal clear!

Well i've got thr r/o system up and running. I'll post some pics of it saturday night, after I finish working on plumbing the rest of the tank lines. I also checked on the shipping of the backgrounds. It looks like they should arrive end of next week! I am thinking about installing the window soon because it takes so long for the silicone to cure. I haven't done it yet because it scratches so easy.
