thanks everyone. I actually had to sell the big barb to a friend of mine (has a 180). with moving, it wasn't going to work keeping all my livestock because the tanks/equipment were all old (set up continuously since the early 90's) so I sold all the fish to the LFS for credit to use for the new 150.
the 65 that you see in this thread was purchased brand new in 2005, so its still got at least another 10-12 years of life in the tank before I need to reseal and all that stuff...
with the new fishroom I wanted as much new stuff as possible. I didn't want to take the old tanks, lighstrips (some of which were almost 15 years old and still working fine) etc.
but don't worry - my LFS can get lemonfinned barbs in so I will get a couple of small ones and grow them up to be big again in the big tank
