it does not stain with meds and does not show algae that grows on it.
it looks sharp
the thing is, I had old tanks in my old fishroom and the clear silcone was algae covered and ratty looking.
the black silicone tanks still looked brand new.
once you get algae on the clear silicone, you really can't get it off easily without risking damaging your silicone.
with black silicone, you can just let it grow.
eg. this 65 tank is 4 years old and it still looks brand new to me:
thats why I specifically wanted black silicone in the new 150.
Marineland has a bunch of tanks availabe with black seals now, all their new deep dimension tanks are etc.
its becoming very popular. one day, clear might be uncommon..
