If you add a bowfin you'll probably end up with a bowfin only tank. It will probably kill the other fish.

A Bowfin is on my wishlist as well, but first I need a bigger house so I can dedicate a tank to one. It's unfortunate that they are so nasty.

Lol indeed, yeah they are a very cool fish, but they have teeth in there and a nasty attitude, I wonder if I put one in when it was smaller if it would kinda calm down with the bullying, I don't KNOW but I'd assume if I purchased one it would likely be smaller, I'd prolly have to have it grow a bit before I even put it in there so mr. crappie doesn't eat it
Also, I did a water change and added some more driftwood, it is a nice look, I'm gunna let it be that way for a few days and if I still like it I'll post a few updated pics
Sweet native set up! im really digging it. Love the dirftwood and the fishes. Pumkinseed is one stunner and that crappie is gorgeous! You should get more crappe!!! haha I just love them.. makes me miss mines. What do you feed these little native monsters?
I just love them.. makes me miss mines. What do you feed these little native monsters?Your Crappie is aggressive like that?? i've got about 6 fathead minnows in my aquarium now and he doesnt even look at them even though 2 could fit in his mouth. They are odd fish though and hard to predict. wanted
my crappie isn't aggressive at all, but it just loves smaller fish, if something was tiny he will eat it immediatly, but he really just ignors the other fish
