lol, I'm thinking north carolina, but nice gesture anyway! This build is on hold officially before it even starts.
Acrylic isn't too bad to cut. 1" will be a ***** depending what you're using to cut it, but it's doable. Just need to make sure you have a spray bottle to cool the blade if you're using a jigsaw or something.
Glad to see you thinking again dude. I liked your first idea, but you're right, you will use the space I wound up covering one pane of my corner design anyway because my TSN is mentally handicapped and gets freaked out by something about being able to see out two sides.

THis is how mine died... something spooked him when he was at one end of the tank and he shot out of the other end and hit the block wall. with 14' of tank to build up his speed to jump he hit pretty hard... At any rate, I did not get the little RTC yesterday like I was supposed to. Apparently the guy lost his heat and most of his tanks came down with ich. They didn't want to take the chance... That will stabilize my fanancial situation although I won't be making very much money I will have way more time in my life to do things vs. when I was working for 14-16 hr per day schwan's. lol, here's a quick sketchup of what I'd like to do as far as dimensions. It would roughly be 24' x 12' x 4' external. Makes it roughly 7000 gals on internal dimensions. If you use the external dimensions you would get roughly 8600 gals. Would be nice to build something like this. Would have to do a smaller tank to keep me happy and get some fish in my life first. This would be the tank I would do after I get to a point in my life where I can own a home again. It would be an outside tank of course. Housing as many catfish as I could stuff in it. Alas it is just a dream...... Hope that you guys don't get disappointed when reading this. Would use construction similar to what I was doing on this tank except improvised a lil. Maybe if I have to move back in with my mom I can talk her into letting me build it on her property lol. Picture is of just 20' wide, but I think I would just round it off to 24' instead. lol. Might want to check with pc to make sure it would be suitable to house just a single rtc for life.
