Necro, as long as we're daydreaming and brainstorming... you might put some thought into designing the tank so it can be moved, despite it's size. There are a few ways you could accomplish this.

1) Build the tank using panels, with bolt together flanges, then seal the seams with silicone or use a liner. This option is sweet cuz you can build it bit by bit, but it's more expensive to use removable fasteners and you have more potential for leaks.

2) Use steel construction so it can be picked up by a crane and moved by truck. At 12' wide, it can still be moved by truck with a wide load permit. A 20 foot shipping container can be had for $1500 or so and cut and patched together to suit your needs.

Or just cover the inside of the container with PC, and put Glass/acrylic just behind the loading doors.

Or

I used to work for a trailer parts manufacture, you can get pup trailer jacks with dolly wheels, 35K per jack to roll it around. mount the jacks inside the base and raise and lower when needed. Also, it could act as a leveler on unlevel surfaces.:headbang2

If we are gonna dream, dream big.

this forum is scaring the crap out of the wife:naughty:

I just went back through this entire thread! lol. We all definitely had some fun, and my life sounded like crap the whole time. I had a lot of fun doing that tank. I kinda like the idea of doing it in sections that could bolt together. I guess that you would just use a gasket of some sort between the sections? I think that if you snug the bolts at an even psi on each bolt it would eliminate most of the leaks at the seam. I'm not sure I could do a metal build lol. I don't know the first thing about welding or cutting. I used a plasma cutter once, but it was almost a disaster.

LOL Everyone's life could be a movie!

Ok, so my efforts of getting a RTC are getting a little silly. I was supposed to pick one up yesterday from the same person but her supplier apparently killed all of em treating them for ick?!?!

DIY Tip of the day.

Get yourself the sponge part of the filter of an Aquaclear 110, cut it in half then silicone each half to a piece of tile. Insert a tube with a bunch of holes in it along with an air line and you've got two sponge filters large enough to filter 20 gallon tanks. :)
