change 100gallons of water daily via drip -

do bigger w/c gravel vac weekly 200g’s -

background - there may have been some bass with internal parasites ( from unnamed vendor) at one time - noticed occasional flashing - treated 3 weeks or 3 doses of prazi pro / salt / 84deg temp in the past - no new fish introduced prior to its current behavior

- sailfin pictus not eating 2 weeks
- low activity, flashing on side, maybe a barrel roll or two
- he is showing interest in food but not actually eating
- before sick he was eating all the food, krill, pellets (all), and tilapia
- last food he had was bloodworms one day and krill the next
- he did eat some bloodworms about when this current behavior began, id presumed he ate some gravel while gobbling up blood worms, the gravel is the smallest size possible and i’d imagine his anus is around a cm.

- treated recently two weeks ago 4th round of prazi for the tank and salt 8lbs epson for 750g’s and temp is at 82

- ive done two large extra water changes this week - he does seem better -

- id imagine i’ll pull him out in 2 weeks and put him in a 75g to medicate him?

am i missing something? thoughts?

thanks in advance all!

still about the same , barrel roll here and there.....

I’d dose some Epsom salt 1 tbsp per 5g in a smaller tank. Feed only the pellets and also add some hex shield to the mix. Hopefully that’ll help.

well....

i thought he was a goner for sure... had snails on him.... at least 2.... was not sure if he was alive... what do you do with a 24” (5lb?) dead fish? too big for the porcelain canal to Valhalla - anywho... alive for now ?‍♂️

started the tilapia for the bass... he perked up and came out and ate a piece or two and a pellet....

salinity (added 8lbs wednesday) is not measurable - added 3 more lbs...

i was debating buying a rubbermaid bin to qt / medicate him in , heaters and such.... hopefully won’t have to?

biggest bin I have seen for sale is like 30g around me and they are tall not sure if thats the best route to go got any spare tanks?

spare tanks sadly have other QT fish in them ? or are 40g

i had one of the 300g versions back in the day in my garage as a QT tank -

i wrestle with spending hundreds on one fish that may or may not effect the outcome -

thanks all!
