Very simple actually...water drips in the top, trickles down through the scrubbies and the pump returns it to the tank...Lid is so the noise from trickling water is less as well as keeping out dust and debris...greatfulxdead;2382484; said:Explain to me how it works, what purpose does the lid serve?
you can build it just like I did and put an overflow in the fiberglass tankgreatfulxdead;2382524; said:here is my pond. Does it have to be above the level of the pond?

The lid is just setting on top and there is more than enough air space all the way through the 530 scrubbies to the bottom where the return pump is...MyFishEatYourFish;2382602; said:if the whole thing is seeled so well doesn't that kind of defeat part of the purpose of a wetdry? the oxygen in the contained air probably gets used up really fast, i bet if you cut some holes and added a small fan or just added a large airpump and airstone at the bottome it would greatly increase the affectiveness.
great DIY by the way!
I bought 2000 scrubbies at one time thats only a quarter of what I bought.greatfulxdead;2382647; said:how much did all those scrubbies cost?
