Got the 4 boards at the bottom done. I’ll be adding 1.5” foam between the 2x4 and then a layer of 1/2” foam over everything. Overkill but can’t be too safe plus will help with insulation.

pond liner is here and it’s massive. Certainly going to be difficult to move around and install.

For the top bracing i’m thinking of going with trex braces 2-3 across the top evenly. I’m eventually going to do the complete rim in trex and i can splice around these and make them look perfect.

think trext is strong enough for a center brace or would you recommend something else?

Opinion on the composite boards (trex)… pick one up at the store… there like noodles lol… strong enough to stop the bowing yes… im not sure itell make the 8’ span without sagging tho. Def. A Nice addition to cap everything off with. 1 2x4 underneath will b plenty to lay down first as ur braces and hold the trex up without sagging.

Yeah i actually came across this thread.

So i’m going to use 3 evenly spaced 2x4 coasted in flexseal. Then i might add a layer of flexseal 2x4 around the edge and trex over the top. Strictly aesthetic and to hold down the pond liner as well.

should have foam all done Friday and hopefully the liner in this weekend. W

Well a pretty productive Thursday. I finished the insulation and added and kind of folded the liner. Not great but the general liner took 12 minutes to set up then 15 to fold in the corners lol

I’m gonna add some water to the bottom tomorrow and fold in the corners. Then i’ll get to work on the bracing and final filtration!26F3A188-F19B-4CA5-A4BD-ED6940A59E2C.jpeg

At this point my one piece of advice, from my own experience, don’t keep Pacu.
Best way to ruin a liner tank i agree lol… had a 20”+ distichodus eat through pretty quick also.
