Thanx guys.
I know it's been awhile but I'm still workin on it. I have to split my time between family and this project and family wins out most of the time, of course.

What has happened so far is that I'm still working on the interior ornamentation. It's been a insane, tedious process but I'm hoping within the next few months that I can post up. All I can say is stay tuned. Thanx again for inquiring.

Thanx. I know I havent posted anything in a while and I keep saying this over and over but trust me...still working on it. Kids in college, taking care of a single parent and work can eat up a lot of "me and my aquarium" time.

Hello everyone.
Well, after that last post I decided I probably should at least show something. It's been a long time and I know a lot of folks were watching this project. I thank everyone who gave props and had patience. I hope you guys enjoy the end result.

Ok, this is "The Rock House". I started this sometime after I finished the tank. It's one of the first decorations I started building for this tank. It was inspired by some of the old rock homes that still exist in the foothills here in So.Cal. There was no real planning on this, I just stole an empty round container from my wife's side of our bathroom and started sticking river pebbles on it. (You can see the remnants of the container in the first pic). One thing led to another and I ended up with what you see. It is by no means finished - there's a few more things that I'm planning on doing but you get the idea.

The floor is real wood as are the window sills and door. The walls are lined with a type of bamboo grass. The roof is made with dried colored straw. I had two types of the MAX ACR left over from the tank build so those are what I used as a build agent and encapsulant. It is time consuming and tedious but it was challenging and fun too. Enjoy.

Brother I must never let my wife see this build...... She will be on me until I do the same....

That is one of the best I have seen, and I love the ornaments also...

Thanx. I know. I tell my wife my ideas and she goes," You're going to do what and put it in the tank?"

Stay tuned.

P.S. Love that avatar.

wow, just read through the whole thread, and have to say (probably doesnt come as a surprise) WOW.. love the attention to detail, like how you decorate even the inside of your ornaments. And ofcourse the tank and stand are just out of this world.. definetely amazing! wish i had just a fraction of your creativity ;) Cant wait to see the final product up and running with pretty fishies enjoying their luxury :p
