22inch fire eel and tank size

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you do not add more fish then both fish could live out their lives perfectly in that tank. A 3 ft fire eel would be happy in that tank as long as the water quality is good enough.

Just keep up the water changes.

I would much rather a marginal tank on size and good filtration and water quality than anything else.:D

ya i should
but its for the best cause im planning for when the fish are full grown then it wont look so empty
a 12inch oscar
a 3ft fire eel
and a 19inch pleco
will the tank up pretty quick i think
I agree, you shouldn't add too many more fish to your tank. I'm not sure about that tank size for the eel though, with only a 19" height, that tank may be too shallow for the eel once it is 30"+. I'd say for the height of a tank for a fire eel, you shouldn't go any less that 24".

the hight of the tank is 24"
the depth is 19"
and legth is 6ft
:grinno:
im thinking im good for another year
the fire eel is getting more fat than anything right now
he is slow on growing in length

Oh, well tbh that's even worse, you definitely don't have a year before you'll need to upgrade, at most, you have about 4 more months. I wouldn't put any fire eel past 24" in any less than a 24" width.

or you could rehome the eel and get another fish that can live comfortably in the current tank you have now
