Great addition to that great looking kitchen. Im sure you know kitchens have become the main " hanging out" area in a house. Even better place to have a nice tank.
Ill have to get a shot of how it ties into my den....I love how it all came out. I can sit on my couch and see most of the tank or watch TV.

What does that mean air cooled? My ballast have a fan on them and lights have nothing. I am actually thinking about one day getting a ballasts the doesn't have a fan on them because that is making most of the noise I hear now...not much but can hear it. With out the fan running in the canopy the lights would heat the glass cross braces up a lot...very warm to the touch...with the fan they are not warm at all.
My light bulbs are encased in a metal hood with a 6" duct collar on either side to push or pull hot air out of the bulb area effectively extending bulb life and removing hot air and hot spots (from the high wattage bulb) under the light. With enough air going through them they will be the same temp as the room almost. I used them to get them closer to my plants without burning them. ( I grew tomato's indoors with them ;)
If you don't get me quite yet I can get some pics up. Or just look up air cooled HPS lamps :)

Really enjoying watching the tank as it's being set up. Can't wait to see the fish under the MH, may try something similar on a future setup.

Any preliminary stocklists?

Ahh I get it...the reflectors I have can do that too...they have a kit that adds a glass cover to the bottom and you can do the vent holes too.
