Thx bro. Part of the hobby right.
Unfortunately, yes it's the painful part of it no matter what fish it is, you feed it and care for it long enough and it stops being "just a fish" they become more than that especially when they are interactive shots and when they die it hurts because then we feel like we failed chin up bud it will be OK, now, go get another

So sorry to hear about this... Hulk will be missed. My het looked very similar when it went down at 5 yrs of age.

Im going on 8+ years with my pearsei and she is starting to show her age... Part of the hobby but sad to deal with seeing them get old or pass away. Sorry again for your loss.

Just now seeing this....when I saw the post I gasped out loud. I’m devastated. I can’t even imagine how you and your family are feeling. Hulk was a fun fish and it’s wonderful that he grew so close to your family. It really speaks to his memory how much everyone cares for him. You gave him a wonderful home and put up with all his crazy Antics. Very sorry for your loss.

Thx man. I knew the immediate family would take it hard. But man it was humbling to see how our distant relatives took it. My mother in law was crying on the phone when i told her, cousins and aunts were calling thw house as if a family member or dog passed... i guess he was part of the family
Yeah but it sucks eapecially hulk was your personnal pet fish.
I know... im just trying to sound like a tough guy. Tbh i really miss him.

Did you ever figure out what caused monty's death.

David you of all people know the love hate relationship me and hulk had. He was really like a bad puppy. The tank looks soo empty without him. I cant help but think about all his crazy antics. All of the things he did to drive me crazy were part of ththe reason he was special. Sucks man.

Thanks hommie, it sucks my son took it the worst. The fish has been with him since hes 3. Hes really upset, the 1st day he cried allot 2nd and 3rd day the kid did nothing but hold back tears and man was he angry. Finally got him to understand how it sucks but opens the door to experience new pets. Im gonna let him research fish and pick out something after we move. He thinks like me though, never have another pearsei, there could only be one hulk. He saw a pic of bocourti and said "no way it looks like an ugly hulk"

I wanna see what you guys think about this. Chewy (het) refused to leave hulks side from the minute i found him like this. She would swim over him and even appeared to nudge him a few times. Even when i netted him out she didnt swim because of the net.

I tied to treat hulk in the 75 gal and had to move some fish into bins. While the tanks were draining and filling i filmed a little of this behavior. I hate seeing vids of fish dying or fighting and have been reluctant to upload them. But i want to see what you guys think. I'll post them later then delete them in a few days.

Could it be an emotional response or me just over thinking a sensitive situation?

Towards the end of the last vid it almost looks like she reacts to the vulture cat being to close...who knows maybe just a coincidence
