They're great fish super peaceful and tough as nails
 
J jaws7777 I showed the wife that video on FB of your sump set up and running because she's interested in trying to create a silent tank (she wants to get her dad into it because he loves my tanks but the water sound from the hob makes him think there's a leak) but because we're also considering doing a sump for the 125 once it's up

Yeah, any type of filter would work in that case except HOB and possibly sponge filter

Yeah its a pretty good system. I can definitely help you out. Message me on FB i can send you a few links to look over.

Some things to consider though. When the water level in the sump drops (evaporation) it will also lower the water level in the overflows. That creates some noise from the water falling. Nothing like and hob though

That's awesome. Glad your wife is on board. It is so nice having your partner be supportive and excited about this hobby. Glad I'm also not the only one who shows my SO forum videos hehehe. What type of fish does she want? Keep us posted.

Also following this post. I'm planning on doing a sump for when I get my hands on a 125 or 180.

I figured they'd be starving but surprisingly they refused to eat for another few days. Last night finally settled in enough to chow down
