300 gallon tank - the project begins!

Wow, at first I thought your location was CharlesTown WV, i was pretty siked about having a local mfker. Thanks for shooting down my dreams. :(

But great looking tank, and awesome pH, ours is 8.4 out of the well.

Sump looks great too.

I end up in Charles Town twice a year for the Mountain Heritage Arts and Crafts show. We sell our product (Duck's Salsa and Green Tomato Pepper Butter) there. That's what pays for my toys. :)

I got a PH of 8.3-8.6 My only real option was to go Africans lol hence the malawi setup

Here's a quick update. In order to get ready for the new pump for the under sand filter I had to switch the current pump over to a spray bar. I used 3/4" pvc and drilled it every inch with an 11/64" drill bit.

I also built the drain portion of the closed loop. Wanted to go ahead and get all of the pieces that needed painted taken care of.

Then I applied a little paint.

I am really impressed with the amount of flow the spray bar is creating. I think I am really going to be happy with the circulation once I get the new pump hooked up.

Oh, just for the heck of it, here's a crappy picture of one of my favorite fish.

Nice! 16x turnover should not be too much, I have nearly 20x and the tetras and fancy goldfish handle it well.

Oh yeah, I also put a new Coralife 36 watt UV sterilizer on the 210 this evening. My old one died. Just what I needed, after spending as much money as I have on the 300 I can't believe I had to spend even more money on the 210. Oh well, Murphy doesn't let up.

It is 96"x30"x24".

All in all that is one hell of a setp man great job on everything tank looks awesome:headbang2:headbang2!!
