I took a few pictures of the tank a couple of days ago. I was playing with the new macro lens and the Gary Fong flash difuser.
wow, i want to just want to say congrats on not only a very informative thread, but a compelliing one as well. i must have spent an hour and a half reading every single post and was completely enthralled. i just received in my 75g and was like wow this is big...i couldnt believe that was what you used as a sump!!! great pics too, i love the camera.
It's been a little over a month since I posted any updates so I figure it's about time. Here are a couple of full tank shots.
Looking good...Looking real good man. What kind of flash setup on those full tank shots...overhead? If I use mine overhead I cant ever get the rest of the tank to show up. Just the triangle of the flash and everything else is black. Maybe my settings were wrong...or the flash is too close to the water....

Thanks. For the flash I am using three flashes above the tank, I am planning on getting two more though. The primary (center) flash is a Canon 430EX II using a cactus remote trigger. On each side (top) of the tank I am using some $10 remote flashes that I picked up at Ritz camera. They just operate by sensing when the other flash goes off. For the price they can't be beat.

I can't find the flash on the Ritz website, it is a Quantaray MS-1 wireless flash booster / slave. For the price I don't think it can be beat. I may have been wrong on the price though, they may cost about $20 each.
