Still working on the sump. Ive got three 60lt plastic barrels inline, outer 2 receice overflows, connecting via 2" hose, the centre barrel which can contain a large amount of water incase of power failure. The centre also houses the return pump and heaters. Will post pics when up & running.

I am by no means a structural engineer, or a craftsman, but I think I dont trust just biscuit and glue for these joints. You have close to 1200lbs a side pushing out on them. I would have put the sides on the bottom, if that makes sense. Or maybe at least some screws. Again, this is only my personal opinion.

The force on each side of the tank varies as you go deeper down the side. The taller the tank, the more force on the glass. If you have any calc. background you can do a somewhat simple integral to find the force. We covered this in class about a month ago, and I found it to be very interesting!

Hi! I thought I'd update. The tanks running on an canister filter and internal mech filter. Got pump today, allready have 3 large drums and hose. Need 4 50mm skin fittings, to connect drums in a row. Two to catch overflows, with media, joined to the middle with the return pump and heaters. Has anyone got their heaters in a plastic tub? Would like to know pros and cons.
Got some pics of oscar, gold saum, texas, gibbacep, red devil x2

with my expirence if you are under 20 in you can use 1/4 x1/4 laminate glass you mibgt find this cheap at your locasl glass dealer as it is a common store front glass that theay might haver a surplus of and if its over 20 to 36 in tall you will need 1/2 in thick glass preferably low iron a little harder to find and gonna be around 100$ at 24x72 in range just make shure when you silacone your glass you go plan ahead and get some help the silacone has a wet in time for dry bonds of just over 5 min for good all glass aquarium silacone you can get this at big als on line for 10 dollars a tube and you should only need one but 2 and a buddy with a nother caulk gun helps cut down on time and to line up your silacone on your test fit i use painters tape on the glass and peel off shortly after assembled and hands cleaned bot these are just my own expirences and you can take them or leave them :headbang2
