The fake stuff is ok. But gotta say with all the money being spent should have gone real. It's not just hte color guys.. it's the motion of the corals with the water flow. It moves, sways. Even the SPS (Hard Corals) soft mouths that come out and pulse and sway.

Trust me it's VERY easy to tell apart, VERY VERY VERY easy. Just go to a LFS and hold plastic parts next to the real stuff.. looks like a yugo IMO.

Awesome tanks eveything else is great.. just should have topped it off and made the tank a 10 out of 10. Not to mention how the coral GLOWS under the right lighting. No paint in the world can even come close

As stated before though,, the cost to maintain that much real coral would be crazy. Just think of the kind of lighting that it would take to reach the deepest parts. Or try to inject foods to some of the delicates. It would be far from practical.

Going MONSTER is often impractical. Thou I doubt the guy is hurting for money with that setup...

Live coral in a tank this size is doable... But not with the water chemsitry you'll be looking at with large fish and sharks. Big animals waste production can wipe out color tanks in enclosed systems before you realized you have a problem. Recreations like this are the prefered way to approach decor in a tank that will be featuring the animals the owner is looking to keep.
