Actually, I saw Loubard's post as constructive critisism, not an attack on the builder. Sure Mike did a great job on the tank ,but as with anything there is always room for improvement and if you or anyone else can not see that then I doubt any improvement or advancements will be made when undertaking another job like this. Loubard's comments about the rock line and the 1/3 rule are very valid points, but maybe the owner wanted it this way, I don't know? But there was no need for anyone to get their pants in a knott when someone shares their opinion on something.

If it was me, I would be picking the brains of someone that gave some C&C in an effort to make improvements if needs be, whether it needs it in this case is totally up to Mike.

I will say first I fully appreciate the time ,effort and planning that went into this build, but I would have liked to have seen a few things done differently, like the layout of the corals, and the background could have been finished differently.

Anyway, the tank is still just young, I am sure it will evolve and get better all the time. Great work on the tank!

Below are just a few examples of of what I thought were great layouts, but I will say this is just my opinion.

Personally I love the "TANK" I do think some cosmetic scaping could be done on the inside.

I think the color skeem clashes. I believe that if arranged differently the corals would complement one another toward a more appealing and less Frantically busy.

Though I really didn't see much difference in the tank Ashdavid posted either... It was less busy... But still alittle too busy for my taste. The second one that was a quarter round or what ever.. Was really nice :)

Then Again... I keep brown drab tanks.... With no aquascaping skills at all!! I call friends over to do it for me sometimes :)

I am completely jealous, that You have so much to work with!! And would cut off my left one ... Well My right one too, to have a tank of that many gallons :) For people to love and not love what I've done...

I really like the outside and how you worked it into your area!

Excellent start :) Keep up the Good work! And please keep sharing with us :) everyone is going to have an opinion.... And they are not all going to be fun.... If they are lame... Then toss em... If they hold some weight.. look at them again. Anwho :) Looking forward to updates.;)

I understand what everyone is saying, If it was my tank I also would have put less corals in there myself and had different layout. But the corals were designed by the owner and also the main piece is custom/fit so it cannot he changed what you see is what you get. Since we are going to be putting some sharks in there we had to put the corals centered in the tank to allow the sharks to swim all way around the corals so they could have plenty of room to swim without having corals in there way.

I am not really that impressed with the end result. The corals are not pretty at all imo..also the build up of rock could have been better by using stronger visual lines in the tank (1/3 rule). The rock parallel to the front window is taking away a lot of the visual depth..

Maybe it's the pictures, but it looks like a really cheap saltwater background photo.
