um wow.. ? did u research anything bout saltwater?
1st its proven that bio media is a nitrate factor BUT not a prob with a fish only setup.. as its not as harmful to fish as it is to corals..
2nd USE LIVE ROCK!!!! ITS THE BEST FILTRATION EVER FOR SALTWATER!!!!!!! toss ur bio media!! its useless in saltwater!!!
3rd even tho those instant cycle bacteria procuct say add fish when u add the water.. u should really wait at LEAST a month for it to cycle properly. not instantly..
PATIENCE is key when doing this hobby.. u know this.. so is research..
how this helps.. good luck. hope ur fish live long happy lives
wow ... Mr. Tough-Guy with 11 posts on the site is going to rip someone who runs a business and is setting up a tank so big that they had to modify the house, and sell a sports car to make room for a tank ...
I bet he goes into public aquariums, and tells them they are doing their filtration wrong, by saying "You're wrong, because thats not how i do it on my 55!"
seriously people ... this is one of the nicest tanks on the site! maybe top 20 in the country, and you are going to talk about the fact that hes not using live rock ??
or that he invested several thousands of dollars in fake coral. the same fake coral that looks damn near flawless in his tank ... but because you use real coral in your 75 gallon tank, you think he should do the same ???
i say we make create a system to police this site ... the first rule is that if the tank is being set up by professionals, and over 1000g, if someone criticizes it, they're
everyone else can suggest more rules later. but thats a good #1 IMO
