Just thought I'd share a few pictures from the grow out tank. Have a lovely group of five Datnoid's. Would be great to get them in the main tank in 6 months time but Will see how they get on. I also have a small clown knife and ADSC05904.JPGDSC05910.JPGDSC05919.JPGfrican tiger in there, not sure if these will be sold or go into the main display eventually.

They are super slow growing. Probably will take a year to get them to 4 inches or so. Just a bit of a fun project. I think once they are on prepared foods I can put more size on them
For the last 30 years I’ve been keeping Central America cichlids almost exclusively but Datnoids has always been one of my grail fish. What gorgeous additions to a beautiful tank!

Another update,

I'm pleased to say the tank is running very well and all the inhabitants are thriving. Unfortunately the royal clown knife just wont come out of hiding. As you can see by the pictures below I have an incredible new addition! The opportunity came up for me to get a violet fusion super red arowana from the Qian Hu farm and I couldn't resist. The Malaysian gold has now been rehomed and meet our new addition, violet! She has been in a 600 litre aquarium for the past 4 years so she must be very happy with the upgrade. I am however debating the removal of the aquascape, Im just a little worried she may injure herself on it, and it would also provide more room for her. I know as the rays grow I will have to eventually but it also provides cover for a lot of the fish, any input or advice would be much appreciated. Thank youDSC05923.JPGDSC05925.JPGDSC05940.JPGDSC05943.JPG

Thank you, yes they look similar to mahseer too. My long term aim may be to swap them out for datnoids but I'm happy with the stocking at the moment. Thanks

Some further update pictures taken this evening. I can confirm everyone is doing really well and putting on slow steady growth. The royal clown knife is still hiding all of the time which is a shame. The baby datnoids and small grow out tank is doing well though.
