i personally think your bio-media has probably taken a dump already.....

no food + no circulation = dead bio

some, a small amount, may survive, but i do believe you will have a bloom on your hands once you get it going again, but the small amount that has lived, plus the xp3, should minimize the minicycle that will most likely occur

just coming from past experience on my end

I have used an XP3 as a return pump before and it works, not a TON of flow even with it empty but it works. It was pulling from the pickup on the sump at floor level and pumping to about 4ft head height. You have to fill the Canister completely first though or it usually won't prime, when you put the lid on the some water gets pushed out but without this trick mine would not self prime since there was no gravity feeding it water.

Definitely go for the XP3 return idea. You bio media should be ok for 24 hours. This will clean the water better than just the XP3 and save your bio

I have your pump being delivered here in about an hour to an hour and a half. We are going to get her all re plumbed today. Bigger intake and return but we can build it into the existing sump with a few different plumbing parts. DAVID we need to just set it up as a salt water predator tank. HAHAHAHA the Tesselata would love you for it.....

That's good news. Sorry that it costs so much but I'm sure you would rather have it rixed right than not working. I was going to offer to send a pump that I have and am not using. It was nowhere near the GPH that you needed but it would have gotten your sump going again until you could get a different one.

LOL-
I'm about ready to put a damn hammer through this tank if it keeps it up-

Still be filtered by a Xp3...Going on the 5th day now....
