Thatw was an interesting and enjoyable read as I just read the whole thread. It's the first time I saw it.

That turned out so nicely at the end.

What are you feeding and your shedule. Also w/c shedule, how are you doing this.

Beautiful tank again.

That is an awsome tank. What part of Saskatchwan are you in? I would love to see that in person.

I feed them beef heart, smelt, pork, wild salmon and pellets(any of these or combination of them) I trained them with foods that are cheaper and available here. I feed them every day, but I limited their feeding when I had my filter shut down. Water change is once every two weeks about 75 gallons each time. On weeks that I am not doing WC I usually flush the main tank then vacuum the dirt on settling tank and I usually don't have to tap up water, about 5 to 10 gals is all it needs to vacuum the settling tank.

I just finished my filter box, dumped in my filter medias a few minutes ago. I also bought a new water pump. The mag36 that I have is too noisy and I did a lot of adjustment to minimize the noise but it's just NOISY, plus it draws more power. I went with the sequence reeflow DART 3600 GPH, and man!!! was I surprised how quite it is. I didn't even know it was running until I saw the water flowing! I still have room for about 40 to 50 KG of ceramic rings for my filter box but these stuff are expensive here. So i'll use scrubbies for now. I will get some next year in Singapore, and I am thinking BIO HOME media, thy're supose to be the best for submerged media application.

I commend you. I thought I had trouble building a stand for a 10g plant tank + overflow/bucket hang above my 125 g. You really created something awesome; absolutely incredible.

I am seeing a big difference in my water quality now. Although I haven't been measuring the nitrate level in my tank, I know that water quality is being maintained at good level when I was still using the bakki shower filter despite the messy foods I feed my fish (smelt, choped salmon, beef heart....). Now that I only have submerged media filter (10 kg bacteria house and 10 kg ceramic rings) and tried giving thesame food my water was not able to recover, in terms of clearness and my aros does not seem to be as active and as greedy as before. I have to do a weekly water change now of about 75 gal. and limit my "messy" foods. I am planning on putting floating plants in my filter box and hopefully I can get some of the BIO HOME filter media. They claim to be able to colonize earobic and enearobic bacteria.
