thanks very much everyone for the words of encouragement! however, i have a slight problem. (see pic) had a look this morning and spotted this :WHOA: :WHOA: only a small small amount of water on the floor but obviously not good at all.

started draining the tank and went off to work. got in there sand dried the remaining water up, some water had got, still is, behind the sealant on the bottom in atleast one possibly two places (just as you said it might alan!).

back to the drawing board. gonna discuss it with my dad tomorrow, but i'm thinking it can be dealt with easily. cut all sealant out on inside, sand the fibreglass about 3-4 inches all round the front panel, thoroughly sand the front panel all round upto the frame where visible, then use several layers of fibre glass tape to bond/bridge across from the existing fibreglass and onto the acrylic, thus bonding the lot together and i hope sealing it up.

Good stuff...Way better than silicone and you could probably shoot it over the old. You can even use it underwater without fish in the tank. It sticks to just about everything. Look it up, worth every penny
