Opps sorry i was talking about flow, ball valves.. Stuff like that to shut off the intake from the overflow... I cant wait tell i toss it all up and running...

i put a ball valve in mine just in case. no need for a flow valve.

im 99% sure the bend in the tank should be just a hair higher then the bend outside the tank.

I think i didnt have it all the way in. the photo/info from here http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219465 says pipe a and a are the same.... but i can under stand my cutting will be off so i should make it shorter to be safe?

also The air part.... do i just drill a small hole and glue it into place... should it be right where u say or back a little one the line... like on the 90?

I made the part shorter about half n inch.... going to glue tom. I was wondering how do you guys do the return? its looks like i cant have the line inside the tank under water level cuz that will drain back into my tank....

I did a search in this thread and have a question to propose.

If I have a euro-brace tank and what to use this style DIY, what is the best way to get over the wide (2+ inch) lip of the bracing?

One route is to build 90's and work the plumbing around

But has anyone used spa tubing? Or anything flexible?

Hi guys,

First time post but I read everyday.
I have made this for my 6x2x2.

I have got it to siphon. I closed the ball valve, sucked all the air out, filled it with water and then opened the ball valve. I assume I did it correctly.

Anyway, Once I got it going late last night I had a bit of a test to make sure it works well however when i turned the power out, It lost it's siphon. Can you see anything wrong with it to suggest why?

I am also struggling to get the return pump and overflow to sync flow wise. Is there any trick to it or is it just a matter of playing with it till you get it right.
