I decided to send in the rostratus pic for POTM, then started thinking that my friend must have taken that pic as it seemed too crisp for my piece of junk camera. lol After checking my HD, it turns that I actually took it. I also took the one below at the same time, this fish was such a beast. Unfortunately the pics I took a little later in his life, when he was really starting to get his groove on, didn't turn out so well.

Thanks!

What's a slave flash? lol It's a Canon Powershot A530. Set to Auto. lol
I'm sure others could explain it better but a slave flash is just a bigger and strategically placed/timed flash that can be on your camera, above the tank, etc. How the term has survived the PC revolution I have no idea lol.

But yeah great pix for a ~13 yr. old camera -- my (~2 yr old) Olympus Olympus TG-870 Tough camera is lame in comparison lol, so I don't even bother using it (my Galaxy S9 takes better pix lol). Maybe going to have to check out a vintage Powershot for my next camera.

Don't quote me on this, but I think my friend's camera was a Rebel XT? He would often use 1 or two flashes on the top of the tank shooting down. When my Powershot broke down years ago, I found one being sold online locally for $20. I'm still using that camera today. lol

Yeah, me as well. I had two males in the same tank for years. They only ever once had a serious disagreement. I'll see if I can find their fight club pic later. lol

This was when were still quite young. It started with a cheap shot, and then things got more serious. lol

And then after several minutes of lip locking and thrashing each other, the tank boss stepped in and put an end to it.

Personally I was always grossed out by the "humpheads" whether moori, flowerhorn, goldfish . . . whatever.
UUURK! Too odd for conventional old me I guess. . . .

But the rest of the fish are astonishing RD and I'd be proud to own any one of them.
