The Pearls and P14 are undescribed, so in export therms they can pass as a describe rays, the P14 can pass as a henlei or leopoldi, the pearls can pass as a motoro variant... All those rays are legal and have the GTRAC, the special transport guide for rays that the IBAMA require as a document to say that this is a legal ray.....
Unfortunately those "motoros" has the pearl price.... and they are huge .. Just to know after the rays liberation, the price incrise around 40% comparing to the price for the illegal ray about 4-5 months ago.... Problably the price will decrese a little next year, butt untill now the price still high.... And Asian people are paying .... SO don't expect to get a cheap ray in next 6 months or more....

Its sounds as if you are optimistic that there will be quotas for next year too. I am assuming the current quotas are for '09 right? Or are the current quotas release now for the end of '08 and starting '09 there will be a new list?
Is your buddy stocking any of the brown rays out of Brazil? (P cf hystrix, P. scobina, etc)
About the Last Pearl, yep, that's my favorite too.... About the quotas, right now the quotas are from 08... Next yoer will be the 09, bu the quotas are divided months... So every month Ibama send the quotos only to the companys from Para and Amazonas states that already have been register by Ibama as a legal to have rays in his busisness.... About the Manaus rays (orbinyi,motoro, hystrix and schoederi, scobina are not at the list) My friend will recive next week.... So he will be full of rays.... But already has sold most of then... Well now the bad news... This year the wheater in Brazil are crazy...... In North of Brasil already stated to rain a lot. So my guess is even with the quotas, the local people are not catching the rays cuz is impossible... So in next months (about 4 months) the number of the exported rays will be under the quotas number, The rain season will stand the price up...
This is not ok. The cf. histrix is even a undescribed species, but there is a qouta for these rays and the export is legal. Other undescribed species are not allowed to export.michel janio li;2545320; said:
