Think a while back. Long while back it was mentioned that fish were caught in one country and shipped to a neighboring country for shipment due to export restrictions. Think this was related to rays. Could be similar to what has happened with aimara.
Probably because all the fish stores I’ve talked to like predatory fins and monster aquarium say that they usually get their aimara from Peru and Colombia so they probably get caught in like Venezuela, Suriname and Brazil then shipped to Colombia and Peru to be sold

so does that mean that the aimara are wild caught? Do they not have like farms?

They are wild. There are some farms I’ve seen vids of in SA with mala like wolves. Being farmed but not sure for markets or aquarium trade.

What could I feed them to enhance their colors and what could I do to get his aggression back

I’d just adjust the substrate for that. Try cut feeding to every other day to get the fish more interested in food/ aggression.

I’ve always fed him like 1 feeder goldfish every day since I have a freshwater refugium that’s usually all he accepts because he won’t eat the frozen food.

and what substrate for color I have small natural gravel and sand and for decor I have driftwood and a big rock and some green plants

I’d starve the fish and try to get it off of goldfish.

I’d go with darker sand if you go it.
